APPOINT JUDGE DARLEEN ORTEGA

TO THE OREGON SUPREME COURT

Governor Brown recently announced the vacancy of two seats on the Oregon Supreme Court created by the upcoming retirement of Justice Thomas Balmer and Justice Martha Walters. We are asking for you to urge Governor Brown to appoint Judge Darleen Ortega to the Oregon Supreme Court.

Judge Ortega currently sits on the Oregon Court of Appeals and has brought her values of integrity, community, and leadership to bear throughout her nearly 20 years on that bench.

Occupational Background:
Judge, Oregon Court of Appeals, since October 2003, and as Presiding Judge since 2011.

Adjunct law professor at Lewis & Clark School of Law (2018, 2020 to present).
University of Oregon School of Law (2020 to present).
Willamette University School of Law (2020 to present).
Attorney in private civil practice (1989 to 2003).

J.D., University of Michigan School of Law with honors, 1989;
